Who designed our logo? Why, it was Bob Brown!
Bob (NJ) recalls his early-childhood-and-first visit, to a well-known puppet theatre on Barrow Street in the after nearly an hour travel, . He made it as far as the door, then went straight home! The puppet master, within --Bil Baird-- would one day hire Bob as a performer for multiple shows and world tours. History was being made in the Puppet Arts! Not before a brief time with
Jim Henson, Bob became lead puppeteer/builder on Mister Roger's Neighborhood, where he performed and was a live actor, along with his with his then, business-partner-and-wife, Judy Barry Brown. Upon moving to the DC area, the two founded what would someday become today's, Smithsonian's Discovery Theatre, where they continued to bring joy to hundreds of thousands per year. Bob is also a former board member of both NCPG and PofA. Today, a published author, he continues to offer symphony orchestra shows in the US and makes many appearances throughout DC/VA/MD. NCPG is grateful for Bob's enrichment to the greater puppetry community, at home and around the globe. Learn more at www.bobbrownpuppets.com
